Welcome to Atmajyoti Yoga in Stockholm.
Atmajyoti Yoga – Yoga for all
Atmajyoti Yoga is yoga for everyone no matter where in life you are. Everyone should feel welcome and we teach yoga from scratch on a soft, deliberate manner. In all of our yoga classes, we integrate breathing, meditation and movement.
Start where you are right now. Yoga is nothing you need to accomplish or push in to. The aim is to land here where you are – in you. We want you to feel safe and secure here, and we will do our best to help you.
Our role here is to give you the tools and understanding of how to safely and in an harmonious way to experience and deepen your yoga in a valuable way for you. We want to inspire you to yoga, not only here on the yoga mat, but also so that yoga is a part of your everyday life – for a happier life in balance within yourself and with your surroundings.
What Yoga class shall you start with?
Do you want to make a more dynamic yoga choose Ashtanga, Hatha or Vinyasa Flow. If you are a beginner you can go to all our classes named Beginner or level 1, at that level you stay until you feel comfortable to proceed. We have regularly Weekend Beginners courses in both Ashtanga och Hatha, you find them here. You can register for a course or purchase a 10 times clip card/ monthly pass or the semester pass, it is also possible to purchase a 10-day try us out card for 390 SEK.
Have you done Yoga before, but not with us, we think it is good if you first purchase a 10-day try us out card, where you can for 390 kr do as much yoga as you want for 10 days, a great way to try us out and see what suits you.
Ashtanga Yoga is a very powerful form of yoga that you always do yoga in a certain sequence, it suits those who wants a challenge. On Atmajyoti we teach Ashtanga yoga very slowly and thoroughly for everyone to have time to get the right technique from the beginning to avoid injuries. If you have problems with eg your back or neck we do not recommend Ashtanga yoga.
Hatha Yoga, Hatha Flow and Vinyasa Flow is a more a free form of yoga where the classes will look different depending on who the teacher is. It’s the same movements in most forms of yoga and in Hatha classes you build according to different themes, such as core, legs, back, hips etc. Our teachers teach different types of classes, but always with the same thoroughness and the same base. Penny’s Hatha classes in the mornings are our most dynamic classes. Sofia’s Hatha classes are our most tranquil classes but they can be oh so challenging nonetheless.
Characteristic of our Ashtanga- and Hatha yoga classes is that we teach slower and softer so that everyone is able to feel inwards. We focus equally on the inner journey as well as to find the technique in the movements.
Do you want to make a more peaceful form of yoga you should choose Medi Yoga, Restorative or Yinyoga, Yoga and Mindfulness or Pranayama (breathing exercises).
Medi Yoga is a slower form of Kundalini Yoga, with gentle exercises along with breathing and meditation. Yinyoga is a gentle form of yoga where one stays long in all positions where meditation/mindfulness is a big part of the practice. Restorative yoga is resting against bolsters in different yoga positions, it is deeply relaxing and meditative. In the Yoga and Mindfulness class we do gentle Hatha yoga and meditation.
