Kia Naddermier – Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style & Pranayama

Cultivating a practice that brings about a fully embodied and cohesive sense of being is key for the depths of yoga to unfold. Kia’s teaching integrates the practice & philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga with Pranayama & Meditation. Including multiple aspects and perspectives allows us to grow a transformational yet sustainable practice rooted in personal inquiry. This Intensive is designed for all practitioners and teachers looking to deepen their understanding of yoga as a whole, involving all layers – body, breath and mind. 

 

We are so happy to welcome Kia to Atmajyoti Yoga again.
Be aware of that we have made a few changes in the venue and in the timeschedule.

 

The venue for the weekend, Dec 17-19:
Elite Palace Hotel, Sankt Eriksgatan 115.

Ashtanga Yoga Master Class - Practice, Principles & Philosophy

Friday morning 06:30-08:45

 

Kia will share experiences and insights for developing a deeper perception of Ashtanga Yoga as a practice for our entire being – body, breath and mind. We will journey through key elements with an explorative, creative mindset, looking at common energetic principles, actions & alignment details to help cultivate a transformational yet sustainable practice in rooted in yogic principles. Ultimately growing an understanding for Asana not only as a physical practice but as an Anusthan, a way of being, a state of mind.

We will open for regstration at 06:00. Come at least 15 minutes before class. Bring your yogamat, a cottontowel, two blocks and a strap.

Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style – Assisted Self Practice Saturday & Sunday 

First group starts 08:00, Second group starts 09:30 

These sessions allow for your personal practice process to unfold, while receiving individual guidance from Kia to further deepen your experience. With a sincere dedication to the growth and development of her students, she offers an including, safe and inspiring space open for personal exploration, inquiry and transformation. 

Kia will be assisted by Agneta Beckman, Lise de la Brosse & Maura Mulvaney.

 

All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.

 

Pranayama – Practice, Techniques, Philosophy

Friday evening 17:30-19:00 & Saturday afternoon 13:30-15:00 

 

The division between the body and mind is first healed with the breath. Hence Pranayama is considered the central aspect of any authentic Hatha yoga practice. In this sessions we will deepen our appreciation of the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy. New students will be introduced to traditional teachings of pranayama & kriyas, whilst those with more experience will refine and deepen their practice and understanding.

Meditation & Satsang

Sunday afternoon 13:30-15.00 

 

Satsang means exploring truth in the gathering of ones spiritual community, Sangha. This last session of the weekend workshop, Kia will guide us in meditation as well as offer space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practice and philosophy of yoga

Shanti Patah, Meditation & Mysore practice – Extended version, Dec 20-21

Monday & Tuesday morning, 06:30 at Atmajyoti Yoga, Sigtunagatan 8

This extended version is only for you who have booked for the weekend workshop.

We open with traditional Peace Prayer and a sitting meditation to align body, heart and mind.

Kia will guide us through the first standing postures to set a common intention, before continuing into self practice at your own rhythm.

These sessions allow for your personal practice process to unfold, while receiving individual guidance from Kia to further deepen your experience.

Kia will be assisted by Agneta Beckman, Lise de la Brosse & Maura Mulvaney.

All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.

Please note: depending on numbers, we may split into two staggered Mysore groups in which case meditation and guided introduction will be excluded
