Senior Yoga with us at Atmajyoti is based on hatha yoga, which is a classical form of yoga, physical exercises and breathing exercises.
Hatha Yoga has many well-documented health-giving aspects .
Senior Yoga is accessible to you as a senior and focuses a lot on balance, to improve mobility in the hips and spine , as well as strength and mental focus . We linked the physical movements to the breath to strengthen the respiratory function and improve circulation. Emphasis is placed on posture and alignment of the body to prevent / rehabilitation of injuries .
The pace is a little slower and it is given time to get into positions in a safe and empowering way . The goal is for you to find strength and joy in yourself where you are in life right now.
Each class is 90 minutes consisting of breathing exercises, physical yoga with lying, sitting and standing positions and closing relaxation. During the course, we will work to deepen the techniques and understanding of Yoga . We will also try simple meditation techniques which improves mental focus
