About Sara Ström
Our bodies holds great potential and capacity. My teaching is about understanding the body and its movements through the studies and practice of yoga, anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. I believe physical practice should be individually tailored to the person and the body that performs it, not the other way around. The aim is to enjoy the body that we live with every day. I want my classes and workshops to be a place where body and spirit are nourished and strengthened, and I hope to inspire through the joy of movement.
For the last 10 years I have been working with yoga and movement training, most recently as one of the head teachers at the yoga teacher trainings at The Nordic Yoga Institute. I’m also part of team Yogobe where I teach online classes and contribute with content on related topics. As a yoga teacher my greatest joy is leading teacher trainings, courses, and retreats.
As you might have guessed already, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to health and movement education. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm and I’m currently studying a Master’s degree in Biomechanics and Sport Physiology at The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences. I’ve also studied movement analysis and sports medicine at an advanced university level, most currently at Karolinska Institutet.
I am ERYT-200 & RYT-500 certified in Virya Yoga, a licensed Personal Trainer and FRC™ Mobility Specialist.
Most of all I’m passionate about learning, practicing, and sharing the insights.
