SmartFLOW Sequencing with Annie Carpenter
SmartFLOW Sequencing is a refined system to help you create intelligent, creative practices that methodically lead you and your students deeper into and unwind you from a highly mindful state and advanced asana practice. You will practice each morning, a strong practice designed class to teach you a specific element of good sequencing, and afternoons will be spent analyzing and looking at modifications for levels, themes and drives.
The morning practices are open to all experienced practitioners — each day will highlight a specific family of poses and energetic focus. You can either book just the morning classes or the full workshop.
Teachers and Advanced practitioners should plan to attend all sessions: 25 hours are available towards SmartFLOW Advanced certification or Yoga Alliance CEUs.
PREREQUISITE: This training is designed for teachers and experienced students. If you received your 200-hour teacher training (or other teaching certificate) from a school other than SmartFLOW Yoga, we respectively request that you complete our online training Heart of SmartFLOW Yoga, an 11-hour course on YogaGlo. Those hours and the intensive’s 50 hours can be used towards your advanced certification at SmartFLOW, YogaTree, or serve as CEUs.
All workshops will be held at Sigtunagatan 8.
Schedule June 6-9
Thursday June 6
09:00-11:30 & 13:15-16.15: Deep hips
This practice will methodically awaken, strengthen and then release your hips on all sides. Strong, slow and deep.
Friday June 7
09:00-11:30 & 13:15-16.15: Invert the Mountain
All expressions of Tadasana will be explored: Standing, Planking, Side Planking, Handstanding and more. This is core work at its best!
Saturday June 8
09:00-11:30 & 13:15-16.15: Twisty Flow
Healthy twists demand mindfulness. You’ll examine what needs to be stabilized and what needs to be lengthened before your deepest twists are possible. Patience and focus are rewarded with that light and long feeling that our bests twists offer.
Sunday June 9
09:00-11:30 & 13:15-16.15: Royal Pigeons
The Rajakapotasana family demand a very specific flexibility which can only be achieved with right effort. This practices invites you to discern what you are ready for and how to move your specific capacity steadily forward. Honesty and steadiness — not extreme flexibility — are the tickets to this challenging and rewarding journey.
Afternoons: the Philosophy and Methodology of Intelligent Sequencing:
1) Setting the stage; making inquiry interesting and specific
2) Essential and global warming: inspiring the effort-full aspect of practice
3) Encouraging depth, not ego… Is it possible?
4) True surrendering (it has nothing to do with giving up)
