YOGA BHĀVANĀ – THE ART OF CULTIVATION
Aṣṭāṅga Yoga | Prāṇāyāma | Meditation | BUDDHA DHARMA
Yoga Bhāvanā: The Art of Cultivation – is an invitation to approach Yoga as a Journey of Becoming. By liberating ourselves from the idea that our practice has an end-point, it inspires a commitment to the path of Yoga itself.
In her teaching, Kia weaves Aṣṭāṅga Yoga with classical Prāṇayāma and Buddha Dharma into an integrated, embodied approach to practice. During the immersion we build powerful tools and profound resources, allowing us to grow our practice as a path to wholeness, compassion and being of benefit to the world.
Yoga Bhāvanā, the Cultivation of Yoga - is a path to intimacy. A deep familiarisation with our entire human experience - body, breath, mind, heart, relationships. Ultimately it’s a way of looking at the world where we are not alone, but part of something larger. A world of unending interdependence and connection.” – Kia Naddermier
We approach these transformative teachings with an open mindset, enabling us to inform and inspire our practice regardless of current experience. Whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced, this workshop welcomes all interested practitioners and teachers. Mysore classes require an established self-practice.
Kia will be assisted in all classes by Agneta Beckman.
Friday Evening & Sunday Afternoon
Dedicated to the practices of Prānayāma (Kaivalyadham lineage) as well as reflections around the Buddha Dharma – these lovingly crafted sessions establish a home ground within our subtle body from where transformation can take place. Woven throughout is an enquiry into Mettā - the heart's capacity for wisdom and compassion - held in dialogue with the breath, the body, and the Dharma.
Saturday, Sunday morning
You will also be introduced to Kāya BhāvanāKia’s unique somatic preparatory sequences, that offer a powerful ground for your Āsana practice to unfold with integrity, ease and clarity. These in-depth sessions will open up new dimensions that will continue to inspire your practice long after the workshop concludes.
Saturday Afternoon
Cultivation of internal and physical awareness- and observation skills lie at the heart of an embodied approach to Ashtanga Yoga. When we allow the beauty and form of each Āsana to be an invitation for inquiry, we open our practice to endless new pathways for learning and growth.
This session is designed to support teachers and practitioners wishing to deepen their understanding of the art of alignment, as well as uncover the dynamics that shape the methods we teach and learn through. By embracing this approach to practice and teaching, we foster self-reliance, self-compassion, and self-realisation – offering exceptional rewards for teacher and student that reaches far beyond the yoga mat.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning
We open these mornings together with Buddhist Meditation, cultivating deep awareness aligning body, breath, heart and mind. Kia guides us through Kāya Bhāvanā, her somatic preparatory sequences, that allows for your Mysore practice to unfold with integrity, ease and clarity.
This is a wonderful opportunity to fully anchor the teachings from the weekend in your personal practice, while receiving individual guidance to further deepen your experience.
All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.
Tuesday Evening
This last evening session of the immersion, we close our circle with a centring meditation practice as well as offer space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practice and teachings of yoga. What happens now? How can we expand the teachings into our daily life?
Our Satsang is followed by some sweet moments to gather for chat and chai ! :)
