A gentle immersion into pranayama, meditation, stillness, and self-healing
This retreat is for anyone who wishes to explore, deepen, and rest into practices that support health on every level — physical, mental, and emotional. Over four days, we weave together pranayama, soft yoga, meditation, self-care och and a light, fasting-inspired diet that allows the body to restore, recalibrate, and find balance.
The focus is not on performance or strict health protocols, but on creating in the body and clarity in the mind. This gentle approach to fasting offers an opportunity to lighten the load, soften the system, and listen to the body’s own intelligence — supported by yoga’s timeless teachings on balance, simplicity, and presence.
What we will explore together
We alternate between:
• soft yoga
• pranayama (classical yogic breathing practices)
• meditation
• stillness practices & a period of silence
• walking meditation & nature walks
• sauna & cold dips
• Abhyanga — Ayurvedic warm oil self-massage
Meals are light yet nourishing, prepared with great care by Cecilia Olsson (Lila Lotus). We eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in smaller portions — offering a taste of what a gentle 5-day fast can feel like, without it being strict or overwhelming. You will also receive guidance on how to prepare before the retreat.
The setting
We practice in one of the most beautiful yoga shalas in Sweden — Mudita Yogashala, located in the eco-village of Baskemölla with a stunning view of the sea.
Accommodation is at the nearby hostel Bo på Baske, which you book and pay separately. Please mention that you are part of the yoga group.
Who is it for?
Retreatet är öppet både för nybörjare och mer erfarna utövare. Vi är en liten grupp (max 14 deltagare) och allt görs i ett mjukt tempo där alla kan vara med. Du får också ett personalized breathing and meditation program att ta med dig hem.

Approach & Philosophy
Viveka’s approach is rooted in presence, compassion, and the deep intelligence of the breath. She teaches with warmth and clarity, weaving together classical yogic wisdom, modern science, and her own lived experience. Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that true transformation happens gently — through consistency, kindness, and an intimate understanding of one’s own inner landscape. Her work invites students to rediscover balance in the nervous system, steadiness in the mind, and spaciousness in the heart. Through pranayama, meditation, and mindful movement, she encourages each practitioner to cultivate awareness, resilience, and a more authentic connection to themselves and the world around them.
In SVT's program *Vetenskapens värld*, the concept of "Longevity"—living a long and healthy life—was explored. A common theme that emerged among all the researchers featured in the program was the use of fasting as a method for improving health and well-being.
The program culminated in an interview with Valter Longo, the director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California and a leading researcher in the field. Longo is known for developing the fasting method that we will be practicing during our retreat.
Here you can read more about the fasting method: [https://foodpharmacy.se/anvandbart-innehall/fasteharmande-kost](https://foodpharmacy.se/anvandbart-innehall/fasteharmande-kost)
I first came into contact with this fasting method through Food Pharmacy about five years ago. I now practice it regularly, and it makes me feel very well.

Each year we gather in places where the sky feels closer and the rhythm slower. Atmajyoti Yoga’s retreats are an invitation to step out of the pace of everyday life and into a deeper presence. Here, the breath leads, stillness speaks, and community supports. In the meeting of yoga, pranayama, and meditation, a space opens for clarity, softness, and inner strength. Join us to listen, to deepen, and to return to the natural rhythm of the heart.
